The mission of the Mark Twain Club is to equip young men with the intellectual skills to flourish and lead. The Mark Twain Club is based in South Overland Park for young men ages 11 and up to gather and engage in intellectually challenging pursuits.
The Mark Twain Club was founded by long-time Blue Valley resident and local businessman Jim McMullen. Jim is the owner of Royal Blue Capital, a merchant banking firm that invests in and advises companies engaged in strategic transactions.
Jim's greatest passion, though, is elevating educational opportunities for young people in his community. He began his career as a middle and high school English teacher and then as a writing instructor while attending law school. Jim's vision for the Mark Twain Club is to help develop the intellectual gifts of students through the development of advanced reading, writing, and speaking skills.
